it was hard, but i waited until the day after thanksgiving to play christmas music (not counting the times i listened to it by myself in february, march, april, may... you get the picture).
after bath time, we put up our christmas decorations for the first time as a family where quinn could help and enjoy it. all of it was done while listening to celine dion's these are the special times (kel's favorite) and bebo norman's christmas: from the realms of glory (my favorite).
here is our happy boy getting a piece of the tree out. i really wanted a real tree and kelli was on board, however with a baby coming any day now i did not think the upkeep would be something to take on at present. next year, though! plus q will understand it more so picking the tree out will be that much more exciting.
the boy and his mommy. his puppy dog pj's were the only red ones he had. from afar they look festive.
he was actually a really good helper. we assigned him jobs which he thought was cool; here he is getting the letters to spell rejoice and putting them against the wall. bella was enjoying some family time as well.
the family by the tree. lovely? i'd say so!
when putting up christmas decorations, i usually wear a santa hat. quinn was intrigued by it and wanted to wear it. he does look better in it than i do!
but it is still a bit too big for him!
and by the christmas tree all lit up! he looks so happy... definitely a successful decorating job!
overall it was perfect. a great time for family and our home is looking ripe for the christmas season. thursday we start our nativity scene, made by my grandmother. each day we will put out a character in the story of Christ's birth and read a stanza from a poem. doing this will be an amazing experience with quinn!
