last thursday we went up to john's work halloween party...mostly to see the over-the-top decorations that they had been working on literally for over a week. each group in the company comes up with a theme and they decorate their area and all dress up to go with the theme. and let me tell you, it's serious business. john's group theme was super mario brothers and they did a great job. here's quinn driving his car on the mariokart course:

last night we went trick-or-treating with our neighbors which was fun because we are really trying to make an effort to get to know our community a little better. quinn and will had about the easiest night of trick-or-treating ever, as they just got to ride around in the wagon and hold out their buckets for people to put candy inside. they were dressed as a farmer and a cow, which actually wasn't planned at all, but was really cute!
and today john and i have been enjoying one of the best perks of being a parent - eating his candy! i'm sure in a few years we won't get away with this as easily, but for now he has no idea that he even has candy so it's pretty easy.

John's costume is amazing. Michael is gonna flip when he sees this. John will probably be elevated to idol status.
