on tuesday, grammy came to watch caroline for the morning so that quinn and i could have some time together. i think it's important to not only have family time, but also have one-on-one time with the kids as regularly as possible. i loved our special day. absolutely loved it. we had so much fun and we were able to just do what he wanted to do. my goal was to say "yes" more than "no" that day, since he hears "no" a lot more these days than he used to..."no" because caroline is sleeping, or because mommy has to feed caroline rather than whatever he wants to do, or because mommy can't do that and balance the other things that need to be done with 2 children at the same time. so when he wanted me to crawl through the tunnel with him, i did. when he wanted to go up and down the stairs 15 times to look at the sting rays, we did. when he wanted to ride the carousel, we did. when he was ready to go eat lunch, we did. we played and laughed and explored together. it was our special day...his special day to just have mommy to himself again. and it was perfect. a day i will always treasure and hopefully the beginning of a tradition of many mommy/quinn dates to come!
our day started at the aquarium
quinn's favorite animal was the huge turtle swimming in this tank
oh, how i love this precious boy!
after the aquarium, we rode the carousel and then had some yummy mexican food for lunch. quinn worked up an appetite and ate all of his meal plus half of mine!
we headed home after lunch. quinn fell asleep in the car and i carried my sweet boy to his bed, where he had a good nap after a busy morning.
