caroline's dedication

sunday was caroline's baby dedication at church. we were happy to share the day with our family, wonderful friends, and our new church family. we are just so thankful that our kids have such a huge network of people literally all over the world that are praying for them, loving them, and providing an example to them of what it looks like to follow Jesus.

caroline's "bio", as read at the front of the church: "our sweet caroline is a beautiful example to us of God's faithfulness and provision for our family. she brings us joy each day with her smiles, giggles, and snuggles. caroline adores her big brother quinn and loves to read books, play trains, and shoot hoops with him."

scott and alexis came for the weekend and stood with us as caroline's godly influences, meaning they are people that we know will faithfully pray for her and they are people she can go to for wise counsel when she's older. scott prayed for her as we stood at the front of the church. they also got caroline her cute dress for her special day!

after church we went to gigi and papa's house for lunch and swimming. and more pictures :).

caroline got some quality time with her aunt phuong! phuong and michael were in town and we were so glad they were able to come to caroline's dedication!

the rest of the afternoon was filled with eating and swimming. and eating and swimming. and more swimming.

we were thankful to have participated in the baby dedication, and to publicly commit to raising our children in a way that honors God. and as i mentioned earlier, we are extremely thankful for the community around us that is also committed to our children. quinn and caroline have many people to look to when they need to see examples of living a life that glorifies Christ. that is such a blessing.

we repeated these words 2 years ago at quinn's dedication, and commit to this again with caroline:

"As parents, we commit to care for and raise our children in a God-honoring way so that they will be consistently exposed to the gospel of Jesus Christ with the hope that one day they will come to know the great salvation that God has provided. We commit to do this by:
  • Praying for our child daily
  • Consistently teaching our children the Bible and about Jesus Christ and the glorious grace of God
  • Being deeply committed to a local church
  • Modeling a Christ-like life at work, in the home, in our marriage, and as parents."
