christmas eve 2014

the past few years we have started some fun christmas eve traditions that involve spending time with friends and family and attending our church's christmas eve service. to me, it's not christmas eve without a candle light church service to prepare our hearts for the celebration of christmas.

we started the day with breakfast at chick-fil-a with the wilsons and claytons. here are caroline and barrett enjoying a chat by the window:

and a goodbye hug...sort of :)

this year we did switch things up a little by heading to grammy and grandpa's for an early dinner. the kids played in pretend snow (you can't count on the real stuff when you live in texas) and we continued the tradition of using christmas cookie cutters to make our own christmas themed pizzas.

we made a brave call this year to attend the midnight candle light service at church. since our kids are night owls, it wasn't that dangerous of a decision. they were pretty tired but as soon as we got there they woke up and loved the service. they got to attend church in their christmas PJs and how fun is it that we walked out ready to celebrate christmas day with our focus on Jesus and the true meaning of christmas. it was a great night!
