March 16

After Elliott arrived, just after midnight on March 15, I picked up Caroline from a friend's house and went home to get some rest. John and Quinn had left the day before to drive to Missouri for the baptism of our goddaughter Lydia. After some rest and a last minute decision, Caroline and I headed to the airport to fly to Missouri. I couldn't miss the baptism and seeing some of our very best friends!  I'm so thankful that we decided to go! Even though Caroline and I were there for less than 24 hours, it was worth it!!

The boys had fun playing on Saturday before we got there!

I love that Quinn and Ezekiel can be long-distance friends. They had a great time together.

After the baptism, we enjoyed a delicious lunch hosted by the Mabus family before getting on the road.

Sweet little Lydia - she's just adorable!

Unfortunately, this happened in middle-of-nowhere Oklahoma around midnight as we were driving home:

We were in John's mom's car and the spare was just a donut. We tried a few places to see if we could get a new tire but no one could help us at that time of the night. So, it was either stay in a hotel or drive the rest of the way home at 55mph. John needed to get back for work, so we drove back. It was a drive that should have taken about an hour and a half. But it took THREE hours and we arrived home around 3:30am.  Not the best ending to a great weekend, but it was great nevertheless.
