15 months

Oh my, our sweet Caroline is growing up! She's 15 months old now and such a big girl. She's all toddler and she loves that. I think the only things about here that still remind me of my baby are that she still loves her paci (her "papi") and her blanket. When she's tired she'll run and find those things or ask for them...that's the sure sign that she's ready to go to sleep!

Speaking of sleep, I guess that's another thing that hasn't changed since she was a baby. She LOVES to sleep. She still takes two naps a day and is begging to go to bed by around 7:30 every night. She won't even let us rock her...as soon as you sit down to rock her, she just reaches for her bed. We lay her down with her blanket and paci, turn on the sound machine, turn out the light, and she rarely makes a peep until about 12 hours later.

Caroline is running all over the house. She loves to kick or roll the soccer ball, play cars and trains with Quinn, and chase Bella. She loves to climb, go up and down the stairs, stack blocks, and recently her favorite thing is to ride the toy bouncy horse upstairs. She gets really brave and likes to ride with no hands...she has no fear! Caroline also loves to read. She will sit in her room flipping through books for a long time and occasionally she'll bring one to us, plop down in our lap, and wait until we read it to her. She has several books memorized and she loves the ones that involve songs, interaction, and predictable patterns.

Baby C loves music and we just started going to a music class one day a week while Quinn is in preschool. Last week was her first week and she lit up when the music started and when she got to play instruments. I'm excited to watch her learn and try new things in the class!

Caroline absolutely loves to eat and will eat just about anything you give her. She would literally eat non-stop all day if we would keep feeding her. Sometimes we just have to cut her off! She almost always eats more than Quinn and the poor girl has a big belly to prove it. The other night during bath time she accidentally brushed her hand against her belly, looked down at it, and then started poking it like "whoa, that thing is huge!". It was pretty funny.

And speaking of funny, Caroline just makes us laugh all day. She's so funny! And she thinks she's hilarious, which makes us laugh even more. She has a silly, playful personality and she's almost always happy.

I think the thing that amazes me the most about this age is how quickly their vocabulary expands. She's saying multiple new words every day and understands just about everything we say to her. She can follow directions well and express her own needs without much difficulty. Some "Caroline-isms" right now are:
baa = bath
baa ty = bath time
bella (she says the whole word with her tongue out of her mouth)
mommy, mah-may
daddy, dah-day
mih = milk
gigi
papa
geh-downnn = get down (usually talking to bella at meal time)
duh = duck
mohhhhh = moo
neighhh
nigh-nigh = goodnight
bay-beee = baby
papi = paci
bye bye
yocky yocky = rocky rocky (said while rocking her baby in the rocking chair)
hey!! (she says this ALL the time, usually when she walks into a room and sees you)
bie? = bite? (she tries to mooch food from anyone she sees eating, even a little boy in her music class who we don't even know! you'd think we never feed her!)
duice = juice
pease = please (said while signing please)
yeah, no

We love you, sweet Caroline! You bring us such joy and we couldn't imagine our family without you.
