our computer crashed over the break, so i'm in the process of trying to get caught up with organizing pictures and blogging. thankfully all of our pictures were backed up, however other important documents like our monthly budget were not. the fun of technology!
now to backtrack to december 16: caroline's first birthday party!! baby girl celebrated in style with a butterfly-themed party for her big day. even though she didn't get much of a nap that morning, she had a great time playing outside, opening presents, and eating cake. thank you to our wonderful friends and family for making the party such a success! and a BIG thank you to all four grandparents, kat, and earl, for helping clean and decorate the house. shout outs to grammy for making the dot garland and gigi for spending HOURS constructing yards and yards and yards of butterfly garland. we have an amazing family!

although i wouldn't normally choose for it to be warm enough to wear short sleeves in december, the kids sure had fun playing outside all afternoon!

the "happy birthday" song didn't even affect her. she just waited until we were done and then dug into her cake, as if an entire room full of people were not staring at her. i guess that's a good quality to have!
