we took kelly to roanoke for a yummy BBQ dinner on the first night
so many people thought these two were twins when they rode together in the stroller. i think it may have been the matching bald heads :)
the boys had fun at the spray park while caroline napped in her carseat in the shade
it took quinn a few minutes to warm up to it... but after that, as usual, he had no fear!
asher was so cute in the water!
he really, really wanted in this fountain. every time it went off he would inch himself closer and closer until his face was right over it. several times kelly pulled him away just in time - he may not have loved it so much if he had gotten a jet of water in the face!
we walked over to the playground and look who woke up!
it's really hard to get 3 squirmy kiddos to look at the camera at the same time!
our sweet little ones at the zoo. we had fun seeing the animals and eating our "picnic" lunch. and i have to say it was nice having another person with me to stake out a corner of the lunch area to nurse our babies in discreetly. if that's not a bonding moment, i don't know what is! :)
bathing beauty watching the boys splash in the pool in the backyard
splash!!
in the stockyards waiting for the longhorns to walk through
that night john offered to babysit all three kids so we could have a night out. while he fed the kids and put all three to bed (and did an amazing job!) we had dinner and yummy drinks at chuy's in fort worth. so delicious and so great to have a night out just the two of us! this is not a great picture and i don't remember it being so blurry at the time...maybe it was the fact that i took the picture while drinking my first margarita in about the past year?!
john and quinn went to houston for a wedding the next day (more pics and funny stories to come about that) so we went shopping and took the little ones to eat our favorite mexican food ONE more time. needless to say, they were not as entertained as we were.
such great memories. thanks kelly and asher for coming to visit us! we look forward to seeing you again in a few months!!
ps - the title of the post has to do with a thomas the train reference. thomas is always saying "cinders and ashes!", which quinn would often say too. until asher came to visit. and the phrase has now changed permanently to "cinders and ashers". funny kid!

i wish i had kids just so all our kids could hang out...although no one would be confusing them for twins with either a puetz or besancon baby :)
