growing up

in addition to being difficult for obvious reasons, the past couple of weeks have been interesting for me as a mom. last week i went to buy quinn a couple of new sippy cups at target and realized that the ones for his age (marked as appropriate for 12+ months) are big boy cups! like the real hard plastic, insulated, BIG ones. yep, quinn is now using big boy cups. then about 3 days ago he started really taking off with walking everywhere. he has been able to do it for over a month but would rather take the faster and safer way by crawling. however, now he is walking! which is great and so cute! but he looks like such a big boy walking around the house. and since he's walking outside too, he needed some shoes with harder soles. so now we've moved on from the soft baby robeez to real tennis shoes and vans (like daddy!). my baby is growing up!! he's so fun and sweet and i love the little guy he has grown to be - the walking, babbling, giggling little guy who loves to run and play nonstop but will always stop to give hugs and kisses. but even though i love who he is now, it's still sometimes hard to let go of the baby he used to be.

anyway...the purpose of this post was to show off pictures from quinn's friend audrey's birthday party today! unfortunately we didn't do a very good job taking pictures because there aren't actually any pictures of audrey or any birthday stuff. but...her party was at this great park and we got lots of pictures of quinn playing on the playground like a big boy!!
