7 months

friday was our sweet boy's 7 month birthday! i didn't have time to post his 7 month pictures that day because we flew to baltimore that day to visit family. more on that later! for now, here are quinn's 7 month pictures and an update on what he's doing these days :).

(this is the only picture i could get of him and bella before she jumped off the chair because he was hitting her with the ring. she puts up with a lot these days!)

recently, quinn has been:

• sitting up really well - is able to play for a long time like that and reach for things way in front of him or to the side without losing his balance
• loving standing up
• discovering one of his new favorite places to be - on daddy's shoulders!
• teething...teething...teething...but still no teeth!!
  
• really expanding his fine motor skills - playing with blocks, banging things together, grabbing objects with accuracy, and exploring things (like faces) with his hands
• learning how to drink water from his sippy cup (regular one and the kind with a straw) and is getting pretty good at doing it on his own
• loving his solid foods (still!). so far he has tried rice cereal, brown rice cereal, oatmeal, acorn squash, pears, green beans, peas, sweet potatoes, apples, banana, avocado, and prunes. he actually loves all of it and rarely lets a drop go to waste! he is a big fan of cinnamon in his apples and oatmeal. he eats 4 times/day - milk at every meal and solids at 2-3 meals.
  
• scooting forward on his stomach to get objects just out of his reach
• giving "kisses" - he grabs your face and pulls it to his and slobbers all over you :). i love that!
• recognizing and responding to his name most of the time (unless something more exciting is going on that he is looking at)
• playing peek-a-boo
• holding up his arms when he wants to be picked up
• laughing and smiling all the time. honestly the comment i get most while we're out is "wow, he's such a happy baby!". i hope he stays this happy and joyful!

this month, he is working on learning to wave goodbye and say "mama" and "dada". we are also starting to expose him to sign language, starting with "more", "eat", and "water".
