our sweet baby girl is smiling a LOT now and has even laughed a few times. daddy found her tickle spot on her tummy once, which resulted in a huge, uncontrollable laugh. but we have yet to find the spot again. she is just so easy-going and happy. she loves to sit in the bouncy seat and she doesn't like it anymore if you cradle her when you hold her. she wants to be upright where she can see the action! she still sometimes gets a little fussy in the evenings, but we have realized that with some cluster feeding followed by a tight swaddle and pacifier, she is ready to go to bed around 8pm. unlike the rest of us, she is definitely not a night owl.
and this leads me to her sleeping. this girl is an amazing sleeper. now, don't get me wrong, i know that this is totally NOT normal for a 2 month old. even though quinn is a great sleeper now, he was pretty challenging for the first few months (most of which was explained by the diagnosis of a dairy allergy around 3 months). but the past few weeks, caroline eats at 5 and then 7:30pm, then is tightly swaddled and put to bed. yes, awake. and she goes to sleep on her own. no rocking or bouncing or anything. if you had told me 2 years ago that it was possible for a baby to do this, i would not have believed you! but she does it, and we are so thankful! the past few weeks she has slept about 7-8 hours straight, then wakes up to eat and goes back to sleep for about another 4 hours. two nights ago she slept 10 hours. praise the Lord! that's all i have to say about that :).
happy 2 month birthday, sweet caroline. mommy and daddy love you so much and quinn simply adores you. you are so special and we could not imagine life without you!
