you put the boom-boom into my heart

for curtis' 40th birthday, brandy threw one of the most fun parties i have been to in some time. in honor of his love for 80s music, we had a throwback party to the 80s. a good representation of 80s characters showed up and it was a great night. the welshman, john norstrom, and i dj'd it, which was fun in itself. preparing a set list, kel and i reminisced over some great tunes the night before.

for our wear, we went to goodwill and target. we acid-washed jeans for me, q, and curtis (it was a semi-surprise so we did his), and kel made my hair look similar to flock of seagulls. it is hard to see in the picture, but the sides come together on top of my head and the front part could extend over my eyes. she did a great job.

either ty took q for a walk or q took ty for a walk. either way, they both look strapping.

hannah and q dancing. we were very impressed with how many people were dancing and how much dancing was going on. big thanks to lou lim from the dj's for making our jobs easy. i can confidently say that everyone who came had a great time.

the welshman had skinny jeans (not pictured) with his phil collins / genesis shirt. jeni won the female costume prize. this outfit was made all the better by her being 6.5 months pregnant.

michael jackson even made an appearance.

the birthday boy! sadly, his jeans didn't come out as well as we hoped but brandy did a great job with the skinny tie and shiny dress shirt.

laura, kelly, q, and kel. q was fantastic, especially since he only had one nap and the party didn't end until 9. between all the stump and cook kids, q-ball spent more time on the dance floor than not. what a lucky kid.

dane came in full miami vice apparel. the glasses on the end of the nose did it for me. fantastic.

everyone chipped in by bringing some part of dinner or desert and a good time was had by all. i was impressed by how many people got on the dance floor. curtis, happy birthday. you are loved by so many people. now you can start plotting revenge against brandy for when she turns 40 (of course, we are at least 6-7 years away from that, though).
