11 Months

Happy 11 month birthday to our sweet boy! This month has been filled with his first Christmas and New Year's celebrations, fun times with family, and a few more milestones. After his first tooth finally came in last month, they haven't stopped coming in! He has two bottom teeth all the way in and is working on his top front teeth which have been pretty painful for him. Thankfully one has already broken through and the other isn't far behind, so maybe once that one is through he will feel a little better.

He is pulling up on everything - including us! - constantly, cruising around on anything he can hold on to, and crawling so fast that it's hard to keep up with him. He still prefers to walk over anything else and is getting better at only needing to hold on with one hand instead of two. He can stand on his own for a couple of seconds but doesn't yet have the balance to really stand independently.

His language and language comprehension has really exploded this month - he's following simple commands, knows what "no" means (though he doesn't always listen), and can say "dada", "mama", and "moh-ah" (more). If he's not distracted, he can point out our pictures on the fridge if you ask him to "find mama/dada". He babbles constantly. He will stick out his booty and dance if you tell him to "shake your hips" and he'll also get his shoulders into it if you tell him to. I love it! My favorite thing, though, is if you ask him to give you a kiss, he'll lean in with his mouth open and slobber all over your face while making an "mmmmm" sound. He's a sweet boy.

Quinn helps get himself dressed and undressed now. He is also eating more finger foods during meals/snacktime, which means he gets to practice listening when mommy or daddy says "no" to him trying to feed Bella all of his food!

He loves reading books, playing with blocks, musical instruments, crawling and pushing his ball/dump truck/inchworm in front of him, and most of all....walking. If he's upset, all you have to do is hold his hand and walk around with him and he instantly starts laughing. The only thing that's better than walking is if he's walking and either pushing his walker or kicking a ball.

We feel so blessed to have such a sweet, loving, happy, healthy boy (praise God for no ear infections or colds this month!). What a wonderful 11 months we've had! I can't believe that next time I write one of these posts, he'll be one YEAR old. Wow.

I couldn't publish this post without including a few of the outtakes from this month's photo shoot. Apparently Quinn is even more like his dad than we thought :)

Thanks for the update! It sounds like he's going to be chomping on solids once those teeth come in.

I'm also glad to see that he has not stopped slobbering. That's a high quality trait (it's how i picked up AK). :)
