so if you are very perceptive (or need to re-think your blog addiction), you will have noticed that we have changed "things we are reading at the moment". this is because i just finished "gone, baby, gone" by dennis lehane and i have now started "the shack" by william young.
one weekend when kel was in connecticut with her parents, i rented "gone, baby, gone", the movie with casey affleck and directed by big brother ben. i found it fantastic... a great story and you really cared what happened to the characters. so the saturday before her licensing exam, kel and i went to barnes and noble so she could study and i could use a gift card. needless to say, when i heard that "gone, baby, gone" was a book, i wanted to get it (for those that care, the other purchases were the aforementioned "the shack", david baldacci's "the collectors", and "the memory keeper's daughter" by kim edwards, which kel thinks is a chick book but i have heard is good though amazon confirms kel is correct... i should never doubt such a smart doctor). i read through it in a week, as it kept me on edge even after seeing the movie. because it is a mystery/detective movie concerning a kidnapping, i won't discuss it though if you have seen the movie or read the book, i would love to hear your thoughts next time you see me. if you have not read or seen it, i would definitely recommend it.
moving on to "the shack", i picked this up because it was a christian fiction book that looked interesting. i am about 100 pages in, and most surprising to me, the initial plot revolves around child abduction. so far it does not have the captivating nature of g,b,g, but i am not giving up on it. i will provide a recommendation or lack of one when i finish the book, but in the mean time you can purchase g,b,g for $7.99 at the noble.
after writing this i realized it was not too informative; i am sorry, but i am still posting it. also, the english premier league starts tomorrow, with manchester playing sunday at 10 eastern against newcastle.

Hey Mr. Besc, Troy is reading the shack too. We've heard great things about it from several people. Will be interested to hear what you think about it.
I am reading a new author that was recommended highly to me - Charles Martin. Have you guys read him?
