our school district is pretty much always last to cancel. districts were cancelling all around us and he was watching his phone to hear that ours was going to close too. finally got word that there was no school the next day and we celebrated!
our snow day tradition is to make a big pallet on the floor, snuggle up and watch a movie, and have a slumber party in the living room.
the next day we actually got to go sledding! in texas! some of the snow had already melted at this point, but the hill was surprisingly fast and the kids (and grown-ups) loved it!
we went to get dinner and it started snowing again. apparently we were the only ones who braved the roads. it was just beautiful!
making cute little snow angels that night :)
and snowmen named olaf, of course!
we could hardly get quinn to come inside. apparently he's still got some of that new england blood in him! he played out in the backyard by himself for a while after everyone else came in, just enjoying the snow.
more snow a few days later (though not enough to cancel school) meant more play time!
warming their fingers and toes by the fire
elliott and caroline watching it snow from elliott's favorite window
cuties playing in the melting snow
bella took her turn by the fire, too.
hooray for winter and hooray for snow!! let's hope we get to pull out the sleds again next winter. :)
