real christmas tree

since we met, john has been trying to convince me that "real" trees are superior to "fake" ones. this year i decided to let him win and get a real tree. he's so excited, but i will say that at this point the jury's still out. i'm not convinced yet. right now it's kind of like when you're a little kid and want a puppy. you promise to feed the dog, walk him, and do everything to take care of him. but then the excitement wears off and the parents are stuck doing all of that. i would say the excitement has worn off a little, and it's beginning to be something else i have to sweep up after and make sure it has enough water. but despite that, john loves it so that's what matters. :)
