the past month has been busy and exciting. she has been on 2 trips (her 2nd and 3rd time to fly in an airplane), traveled out of the country for the first time, attended her first wedding, played on the beach for the first time, and tried lots of new foods. i guess she really is growing up!
caroline says "mommy" (constantly), "daddy", and "bye" and signs "more", "all done", and "milk" with pretty good accuracy. she also says something that sounds like "poppy" which i think means papa. she loves music and loves to dance. if she hears music or you tell her to dance, she will shake her head from side to side, shake her hips, and squat down really low. the girl has some moves!
she loved the mexican music while we were in cabo...she danced through this whole breakfast
baby girl is still a big eater. she can seriously eat as much as quinn! she eats so much that i can't just let her share off of our plate anymore at a restaurant. she needs her OWN meal and she will eat it all. she just started drinking a little whole milk last week and she really likes that. i think that, better than the milk itself, she likes that she can feed herself the bottle. she loves to do grown up things! the most interesting thing about her diet is that she LOVES meat. the rest of us aren't big meat eaters, but she gets so excited about it.
caroline loves to walk (still holding onto us, a push cart, or furniture) and is getting very brave! she can now stand for a few seconds without holding onto anything and she can walk with us just holding onto one hand now. she also loves to climb and could spend hours on the stairs if we'd let her, just climbing up and down.
my favorite thing is how her little personality is coming out more and more every day. she thinks she's hilarious and loves to make us laugh. she's sassy and will let you know exactly what she wants. she's also tough - sometimes we have to get onto quinn for wrestling with her and being too rough, but never because she's crying and acting like it's too much. usually she laughing and tackling him right back! she's a talker and loves to have "conversations" with us - she thinks it's so funny if we try to repeat back to her what she's babbling. and even though she's tough and busy and all of those things, she's still a snuggly little girl. she loves to sit in my lap and climb all over me. and when she's tired she will snuggle up with her blanket and lay her head on your shoulder.
my favorite mommy moment happened this month, during kathryn's wedding. caroline was sitting with john and my mom in the front row during the processional. caroline had turned around and stood up in the seat closest to the aisle so she could watch everyone walk in. as soon as she caught a glimpse of quinn and i walking in, she started bouncing up and down, smiling, and laughing and did that the whole time we walked down the aisle. i love that she gets so excited to see us - it makes my day! caroline, i love you so much that it makes me want to jump up and down sometimes, too! :)
happy birthday to our sweet caroline. what a joy the past year has been. we love you so much and are so thankful for the blessing that you are. a true testament of God's faithfulness.
