- "Unt milk" (or anything else, but usually it's milk) = I want milk
- "What's that?"....which he says ALL the time
- "bus", "choo choo"
- "oss?" = off; used when he wants us to turn on a toy
- "yeppie!!" = a much more excited version of "yes" or "uh huh"
- "dip?"...used when he wants to dip his food in something, which he LOVES to do
- "beh" = bed
- "jump"
- "ah-side" = outside
- "mow?"...ever since we went to virginia, he really wants to mow the yard! we must get this boy a pretend lawnmower!
- "bubbles"
- "bass!!!"...excitedly yelled on the way to the bathtub
- "crack crack" = sounds bad, but it just means cracker :)
- "blue blue" = blueberries
- "baby" (we are working on this in preparation for baby girl)
- "dats" = what he calls Aunt Kat
- "pease" = please
basically, he talks non-stop. like seriously non-stop to the point where it's really funny. and apparently it's not just to us, because when we picked him up from the nursery at church yesterday the teacher commented on how well and how MUCH he talks. the other night we were having dinner with my family and after he got done eating, he was bored and just started going around the table saying everyone's name until they answered him. he must have gone around the table like that 10 times before he moved on to talking about something else. and don't worry, bella made the roll call even though she wasn't technically sitting at the table.
we are trying to teach him the difference between different kinds of balls (like soccer ball, baseball, etc.), but for some reason every ball just ends up being called something that really sounds like "cheeseball". no one can figure out what he's actually saying.
he uses silverware for all meals and is doing a pretty good job with that. he still loves books and will often go get books from his room, bring them to one of us, and want to sit in our lap to read the book. puzzles and blocks are two more favorites. daddy is teaching him to build tall towers with his blocks...and then, of course, knock them down! he is learning body parts and can identify most of the main ones...his favorite being his belly button. but be careful, if you ask him to show you his belly button, he will then probably want to see yours.
quinn loves animals and is learning new animals/sounds. but even though he knows the animals, he will only call them by the sound they make instead of by their name. he is becoming more attached to his monkey lovey and when it's time to go to sleep, he asks for his monkey by going "ooh oooh ah ah?".
but probably my favorite thing that he does right now is try to flip. if you ask him to flip, he will put his head and hands down on the ground with his booty sticking up in the air and stay that way until you help him flip over. if no one helps for a minute or so, he will stay in that position but call for you until you come help him. it's pretty cute, if i do say so myself :).
happy 20 months, quinn! we love you so much and are so proud of the little boy you've become!
reading his favorite book, "goodnight moon"
