6 months

tuesday was quinn's 6 month birthday. what a fun month this has been! he's so playful, happy, and fun and we absolutely love spending time with him. in the past month, he has made his second flight between boston and dallas, attended his first wedding, expanded his diet to include a wider variety of foods, and hit some major milestones. and, as i say every month: he's just growing up so fast!!
more specifically, quinn's been:

• becoming VERY ticklish on his tummy and neck - he just cracks up every time you tickle him there
• loving sweet potatoes and bananas and HATING peas. he's getting a little better with the peas in the past few days - he doesn't gag and spit them out every time like he did initially but he still makes horrible faces! i think he's kind of indifferent on apples - they are ok but definitely not his favorite. tonight i gave him some oatmeal with a little cinnamon in it for dinner and he seemed to really like it. he just loves to eat in general and gets so excited at meal time!
• drooling everywhere and chewing on everything (mostly his fingers, toes, and teething rings) but still no teeth! the pediatrician said today that she could see the bottom ones about to break through so he may have his first little teeth any day now.
• sitting up and playing on his own. if he reaches too far for a toy or gets too excited he will topple over, but for the most part he's a really good sitter.
• recognizing family members on skype for the first time and interacting with them
• sleeping 10-11 hours straight at night (~9pm to 8am), eating a bottle every4 hours during the day and solids twice per day before his bottle, taking 2-3 naps during the day
• sitting in a high chair for the first time at a restaurant
• drinking water out of a real glass during meal time (he prefers real glasses over a sippy cup)
• grabbing objects with both hands and passing it from one hand to the other
• taking out his pacifier and finally putting it back in his mouth most of the time!
• LOVING his sister bella. he will just sit and watch her for a long time. at night before bed when he's tired and being a little silly, he will sit and watch bella walk around and just absolutely crack up. he loves her!
• standing up and bouncing in his exersaucer
• talking and screaming (happy screaming) more as well as making lots of different sounds - the new favorite is blowing raspberries with his lips. when he learns a new sound, he does it non-stop for about a week until he moves onto something else.
• exploring the world around him. he is just so curious and loves to touch things and even just sit and watch people, cars, etc.

weight: 16 lbs 14 oz (40th percentile)
head circumference: 45 cm (84th percentile)
length: 27 1/2 inches (85th percentile)
