and here is us in front of buckingham palace after the ceremony
i LOVE this picture! this is michael crouching down low to walk under this gate. the funny part is that he could have walked right under it without even bending down, but every time we came to one he walked super slow and crouched down really low to get under it. it was so cute!
really pretty arches. we stood in this place for a while, all trying to figure out what the writing above the arches says.
after buckingham palace, we headed to covent garden. after walking around there, watching street performers, and going in a few shops, we headed to leicester square and then piccadilly circus. piccadilly circus is like a mini times square, which is where this picture was taken.

from there we strolled up regent street, which is one of the major shopping areas of london. of course john and bryan loved this! we went in a few shops that we don't have in america and then ended up in oxford circus where we met brian, phuong, and michael for dinner.
the next day we walked to cafe diana for traditional english breakfast. surprisingly enough, baked beans are a good addition to a big breakfast! then we walked through notting hill which was definitely my favorite part of london. the neighborhoods are so nice and they really do have those little neighborhood gardens like in the movie notting hill! here's one we found:

we also found the travel bookshop which was the inspiration for the one in the movie notting hill. the inside looks just like it did in the movie!
michael supporting the red sox in notting hill
yummy cupcake store in notting hill
john enjoying a red velvet cupcake. look at all that icing!
a view of the end of portabello road
in notting hill, we shopped at the portabello road market and just enjoying walking through the neighborhoods. it was a so fun! later that afternoon, john and i went to the churchill museum with brian, phuong, and michael while bryan and katie stayed at the flat to let eden take a nap. the museum was really interesting - it contains the cabinet war rooms which was the underground headquarters of the british government as they fought the nazis. after the museum, john and brian went to meet bryan at a pub to watch the man united vs. arsenal semi-final game and phuong and i headed home to have a girl's night with katie. the guys had fun watching the game and we had a fun night of takeout (or "takeaway" as they call it in london), a girly movie, and chocolate!
