And this is John and I in front of the entrance to the blue lagoon. I like this picture because you can really see how rocky the landscape was in Iceland. It was so crazy - no grass or trees, just rocks everywhere!
Anyway, we finally got to London on Saturday night. We got our bags, bought our oyster cards for the subway (aka The Tube) and headed to our flat to meet Brian, Phuong, and Michael.
Michael was already asleep when we got there, but we had fun talking with Brian and Phuong and eating an authentic English dinner from Pizza Hut. The next morning, we got up to get ready. Eden and Michael met for the first time, and Eden proceeded to tackle Michael and pin him to the ground.
We took the tube downtown and walked from Trafalgar Square to Westminster Abbey. This was originally the entrance to Buckingham Palace. Now these guys just sit on horses all day and people crowd around and take pictures of them.
We made it to Westminster Abbey for Evensong, which we thought sounded cool but turned out to be a regular mass. We were "those rude Americans" that snuck out in the middle of the service. We blamed it on Eden and Michael needing to leave, but I can't say we were too upset to get to leave early. We had a lot of London still left to see!
We headed toward the London Eye, past Big Ben and Parliament:
The London Eye was a great way to start our trip! We saw beautiful views of the river and the city. These last 4 pictures were taken inside the Eye:
