summertime with daddy home

since hazel was born right in the middle of the summer, we've been especially thankful for john being home this summer! even though he's been working camps and summer school, he's still been able to be home quite a bit and we've had some great family time!!

totally normal way to watch a movie

playing just dance on the wii

we made a growth chart for the kiddos and decided to put our handprints on the back. hazel's were a little challenging, but we couldn't leave her out!

we also had a family game day at main event:

1 month!

what a wonderful month we've had! this little one is such a blessing to our family.

hazel is such a precious gift from the Lord. she's adorable and looks so much like her big brother. she's laid back and loves snuggles from her siblings. she's eating and sleeping really well. it's hard to remember how our family was without her! we love you so much, sweet girl!

another week of random summer fun

the cooks were in town and spent the night with us. it was a fun 24 hours!

caroline loves to help me give hazel a bath!

sleeping beauty

i love those newborn funny faces!!

unfortunately, we were exposed to lice but thankfully we didn't get it! we all did a coconut oil hair treatment just to be sure! it's not necessarily something i want to remember, but the pictures are cute :)

hazel is quinn's mini-me! that's quinn on top and hazel on bottom, both around 1 month old. same cute face and wrinkly forehead!!

and another of baby girl sleeping...because newborns sleeping are just too cute

4th week of a family of 5: finding our groove

Hazel joining our family was probably our easiest baby transition so far. So by week 4, we were feeling pretty good! She's a good sleeper like her big sister was, so we were getting a fair amount of sleep. My recovery was so much easier this time and that really helped as well.

Hazel was not a fan of her first real bath!

After bath time, she napped in her diaper and a towel outside (because it was still crazy HOT) while we played!

Morning sister snuggles

Funny faces!

Hazel got some love from some of my favorite girls!

She's sleeping on her tummy, which is cute. But the miraculous thing about this picture is that Caroline gave Hazel her beloved "new blankie" to sleep with. She has been such a great big sister - so selfless and loving and not jealous AT ALL. I was nervous about how she would do, but I'm so proud of her! These two girls are going to be great friends!

Can you see it in the light?? That hair looks a little red...

Big brother love

C loves to carry "her baby Hazel" in her Moby wrap! It's so cute, I can hardly stand it!
