We didn't do a good job of taking pictures of our most recent Boston trip. We were having so much fun with everyone that I just kept forgetting to pull out the camera. But we do have a lot of great memories even if there aren't pictures to go with them!
The first few days we stayed with the Cooks and had so much fun. We played outside, played games, and just relaxed and enjoyed being together. Hannah was determined to teach Caroline that her name wasn't Bubba and by the end she had successfully taught her to say "Hannah G(r)ace". Except then Caroline started calling everyone "____ Grace" (i.e. Bubba Grace, Mommy Grace). It was cute :).
No trip is complete without visiting Fenway and the Red Sox store. Go Sox!!
The next few days we stayed with the Stumps. The kids loved playing at their house and we were at their house for Thanksgiving Day. That morning we went out to the annual flag football game and it was REALLY cold. The kids lasted all of 10 minutes out there before they were both crying and Caroline didn't stop crying until we got home. Clearly they haven't experienced much cold weather in their little lives!

The kids had so much fun playing together in the basement...who wouldn't??
Next, we stayed with the Thomasons. We had a great time downtown with them on John's last day in Boston. We rode the carousel and then played at the aquarium. Once again, Caroline was pretty mad about being out in the cold weather.
Quinn didn't mind the cold as much this time and loved the carousel!
Leah, Quinn, and Eden. C was so mad about the cold that she wouldn't even pose for the picture!
jellyfish at the aquarium
touching sting rays in the touch tank!
the kiddos had a pizza dinner with some awesome babysitters while the grown-ups enjoyed yummy Thai food and ice cream in Belmont Square
more snuggles with Hannah
John had to leave Saturday morning to get back to school in time for soccer tryouts, but the kids and I stayed a few extra days. We stayed with Tyson, Kelly, and Asher and it was a fun way to end our little vacation!
The Cooks came over on the last night and brought some really sweet toys for the plane ride home the next day. Goodbyes are always hard - we love our Boston family so much!!
The next morning, Quinn woke up with a fever and was just feeling awful. Brandy came over and snuggled with him while I ran to Target to get anything I could find to help make him more comfortable for the flights. We debated trying to push the flight back, but it was time to get home. It's hard taking care of them both on a flight in general, but when one of them is really sick and the other is a little congested, it makes for an exhausting day. They both screamed for a while as we descended into Dallas, and the flight attendant was super (NOT) helpful by offering Caroline gum and ice to chew on. Ummm...she wasn't even two! Probably not a good idea! But we survived and made it back home where John was waiting to pick us up.
I'm so happy that even though we don't live there anymore, we can continue to make fun Boston memories with people that mean so much to us. And I love that our kiddos are now making those memories as well.
