we took a little break from the trampoline park after i had one of my scariest parenting moments EVER there over the summer. the short version of the story is that caroline passed out in the foam pit and was unresponsive for about a minute. she finally woke up as i was running with her in my arms to my friend alli who was there with us. here i am thinking she's had a spinal cord injury or some heart issue or something (of course the worst case scenario is what popped into my head) and then she just wakes up, cries for a minute, and then decides she likes the balloons and is fine. she proceeded to run around and play like nothing ever happened. so after some cardiac and neurologic testing, everything was fine. turns out it was likely a pallid breath holding spell and nothing more - such a relief.
so, needless to say, we weren't rushing back to the trampoline park again for a while. after a few months with no passing out, we decided to give it a try. carefully. and with no foam pit for caroline (she didn't even ask to go in it, so i think she remembers what happened last time). thankfully, everything went fine and we all had a blast!
