meeting baby jude

caroline and i were so excited to get to fly to santa fe a couple of weeks ago to meet sweet baby jude. our friends scott and alexis welcomed their first son a month ago and i could not wait to meet him! it was such a precious time. not only did we get a lot of sweet newborn snuggles and a lot of great time with scott and alexis, caroline also took her first steps the first night we were there! i think she was just showing off for her new friend :).

she was so excited to wake up from her nap and find baby jude awake and playing

rubbing his leg. she loved "the baby".

anytime he would cry or make a sound, caroline would say, "baby! baby" and make a beeline for him. she was so concerned about him and loved checking on him by peeking into his bassinet and rubbing his leg or back. these next few pictures show what was probably the highlight of the trip in her mind. she got to hold "the baby" and she nearly wouldn't let him go!

she held him, snuggled him, and rubbed his tummy. such a sweet girl.

congratulations, scott and alexis on this little miracle. we love you guys and are excited to walk through this journey with you. we love you and miss you, sweet baby jude!
