just to warn you, these are really just a few quick notes to help us remember quinn at this age. there are no pictures, so feel free to skip this post. the next will have lots of pictures!
the number one word to describe him right now: BUSY. people often say to me, "wow, he never stops moving, does he?". the answer is no! if he's not eating or sleeping, he's running around. his favorite activities are kicking or throwing balls, chasing bella, squeezing himself into tight spaces, playing hide - n - seek, jumping, running, and climbing. he will occasionally sit still to read a book or two, but then he's off again. today he figured out how to jump so that both feet actually leave the ground and he thought it was amazing. he continued to practice for about 10 minutes (which is a long time in toddler world!), just laughing and jumping and often falling back on his bottom.
his favorite book right now is dear zoo because he loves the animals hiding behind the flaps. his favorite foods are cheese, fruit, and yogurt. if it's not one of those things, you never know if he'll decide to eat it that day. he does eat A LOT though, often more than i do at a meal. he's a growing boy!
as is common i think with toddlers, communication is getting easier and more frustrating for him all at the same time. he is learning more and more words, but has so much to say that he gets frustrated when he can't get it across. he is constantly - CONSTANTLY - having "conversations" with us or his toys (full sentences of just babbling), but can say some real words too. he mimics us all the time, so i really only count it as a "real word" if he uses it correctly on his own or identifies an object or person correctly by name. as of right now, the words he consistently uses correctly are:
-mama
-daddy ("dah-dee")
-bella ("beh-wuh")
-cheese ("cheeee")
-keys ("keee")
-eat ("eeee")
-water ("wah-duh")
-dog/doggie
-duck
-bye ("bah")
-ball (also sounds like "bah" but in a different context)
-more ("mah")
he is such a sweet boy, often randomly coming up and giving us hugs and kisses. he gets a huge smile on his face and does his happy dance (usually involves quickly running in place - so funny) when daddy gets home from work. he is super ticklish, especially when he's tired, and loves to be chased. he giggles and shrieks as he runs around the house if you're chasing him.
15 month stats:
height: 32.5 inches (87%)
weight: 23lbs 1 oz (29%)
head circumference: 49 cm (92%)
what a great 15 months we've had! we love you, sweet boy!
