weekend of emergency rooms and junk food

about 2 weeks ago, john started feeling sick. it started as a sore throat, then turned into a head cold and bad cough with lots of congestion. he was really careful about not being around quinn too much and even wore a mask he stole from the doctor's office when he was playing with him. he also slept in the guest bedroom and tried to stay away from me as much as possible so i wouldn't catch his germs. we thought that quinn and i had escaped without getting sick until quinn woke up friday with a cough and fever. we drove straight back from niagara falls to the pediatrician's office. unfortunately, since it was 4pm on a friday, she had to send us to the emergency room for chest xrays. quinn was diagnosed with bronchiolitis and ear infections in both ears and we've been doing nebulizers and giving him antibiotics since friday night. thankfully, he's feeling much better now except for a lingering cough. not so thankfully, i woke up with a fever and sore throat on sunday. boo!

despite that, we ended up having a pretty fun weekend. hannah and brennan stayed with us since brandy and curtis were out of town. hannah was so helpful, as usual, and helped me take care of quinn, play with him, and even helped give him his nebulizers. and brennan entertained john by playing many hours of wii with him!

saturday was definitely quinn's worst day. you could just tell he felt terrible, which was so sad. i put him down on our bed while i got dressed that morning and within 2 minutes he had fallen asleep! poor little guy.
brownies were a bad idea for many reasons - most of which i won't post :). here's brennan covered in brownie batter and quinn with his swollen eye. i'm not sure why blogger decided this font should be blue and underlined, by the way. it's too late to try to figure it out so i'm just going with it.
it appears that my font is back to normal. blogger is so weird sometimes. anyway, we had a fun weekend. quinn survived his first ear infection and trip to the emergency room. and i'm going to the doctor tomorrow so that hopefully i'll start feeling better soon, too. for the time being, i'm just going to pop some tylenol and sudafed and get to bed!
